Colin Haggie (Head Coach)

As many of the people involved in the local athletic scene know, Colin is a great follower and can be seen (well you actually hear him before you see him) at many of the local races supporting not only the Gosforth runners but also many of the other athletes. Colin is a life member of Gosforth and has spent the best part of his life involved in Gosforth Harriers. He has held many positions in the club during that time, the jobs he has held vary from my current position as club captain to what he is now, the club president and assistant coach. Colin though in his heyday was a good runner at the longer distances and even ran races up to twenty miles long (they ran out of road, so instead of the full marathon distance ran just twenty). He also acts as a great role model to the younger athletes, showing them through his hard work and commitment to turn up at every race and session, exactly what it takes to make it in the sport.
